Abel Consulting Services, Inc. (ACS), formerly Abel Engineering Professionals, Inc. (AEP), was founded in 1985, located in Pueblo, Colorado, to provide services to private and public entities. We are located at 102 S. Oneida St. in Pueblo Colorado. ACS includes Civil Engineering, Land Surveying, and Architecture services. Our staff of 27 works together to complete specific project tasks while possessing the flexibility to be assigned to other departments to accommodate non-anticipated workloads. This diversity in disciplines enables ACS to perform like a much larger firm. ACS supports and encourages its staff to pursue advancement through state licensing, continuing education, professional training, and seminars. This ensures all personnel stay current with the changing needs of private and public projects regarding techniques and responsibilities.

ACS offers a wide variety of Civil Engineering Services from concept to construction. Some of these services include: the design of streets, water and sanitary sewer infrastructure alignment determination and sizing, storm water systems and structures, water quality, BMPs, parking lots, foundations, retaining walls, lift stations, septic systems, water treatment systems, and much more. Our engineering team has strong skills in the performance of drainage studies, engineering feasibility studies, structural and site assessments, and construction inspections as well as preparation of drainage reports, storm water management plans (SWMPs), design analysis reports, master plans, construction cost estimates and construction documents including site plans, grading plans, utility plans, demolition plans, geometric plans, foundation plans, septic system plans and construction details. Constructability, feasibility, cost, environmental impact, and user needs are among a few of our design considerations. Our experience enables us to provide complete Construction Administration Services including pre-bid coordination, bid evaluation, inspection, scheduling, coordination with multiple contractors, problem solving, addendums, punch-lists and project closeout. Our goal in construction management or construction administration is to provide the highest quality end-product, within budget and scheduling constraints.

ACS provides a complete range of Land Surveying and Mapping Services, which include: utility locates, Construction Layout, Property and Boundary, Topographic, and ALTA surveys. Institutional renovations and additions require a Construction Layout Survey, which consists of Initial Grading of the entire site, Layout of all new Structures, new Utilities, Parking Areas, Sidewalks, Drive Lanes, and Landscaping. ACS utilizes the latest Global Positioning Systems (GPS), along with the latest conventional Survey equipment, which ensures the highest accuracy. ACS’s Surveyors provide the critical translation of the engineer’s and architect’s design plans to actual physical locations in the field. ACS currently has one (1) licensed Professional Land Surveyor, and three (3) Land Survey Interns that plan on obtaining their licenses in the near future. We have four (4) 2-Man field survey crews. We also have two (2) survey technicians.

ACS offers full Architectural Services with special emphasis in Institutional Building Design, Renovation and Rehabilitation. A complete understanding of current State Regulations and ADA Guidelines ensures a safe and coherent design. As part of full Architectural Services, Building Programming, Design, Contract Documents, and Construction Administration are all provided. ACS’s architectural and engineering staff work together on each project to address individual requirements, which result in an integrated approach to the design process.
